Training Resources
Training programs are a benefit of joining the SWOG Cancer Research Network.
SWOG offers two types of online training courses:
-
Study-specific trainings provide important overview information for site initiation and training processes pertinent to the conduct of the respective SWOG trials.
- Protocol-specific requirements (PSRs) for training:
- In the event that study-specific training is required to be completed by the participating site (or site staff) as a prerequisite to patient enrollment, a link to the required training materials (and/or associated training instructions) will be included in the SWOG protocol Sections 13 and 15. (Note: In 2022, SWOG transitioned to provision of study-specific training via the CTSU CLASS learning management system for NCTN studies.)

SWOG member-only training courses (direct hyperlinks to many of SWOG's Training Plans below) are hosted in the:
ExpertusOne Learning Management System.
*SWOG members must login with their current CTEP IAM id and password to access the ExpertusOne system.
All of SWOG's training courses are set-up in the LMS for self-enrollment.
Investigators will be required to complete the Early-Stage Investigator Workshop or Study Chair Workshop prior to serving as a Study Chair on a SWOG-led study. While member institutions may require SWOG training completion as part of their onboarding process, SWOG provides all oncology research professional training courses on a voluntary, self-enrollment basis.
Please see the SWOG ExpertusOne Learning Management System Overview presentation for a quick overview / snapshot summary of how to search for training content, enroll in course, view completion certificates, and cancel registration to any course. Additional, detailed instructions for the Clinical Trials Training Course and Study Chair Workshop training plan are included via access instruction links below.
