SWOG MaD Travel Funds

Overview

SWOG is interested in supporting a wide cross section of disciplines to ensure robust input into its developing clinical trials. Recognizing that funding to travel to SWOG Group meetings, a key venue for SWOG investigators, is not always able to be financially supported by your institution (particularly for non-medical oncologists), we are providing a mechanism to apply for assistance in covering travel costs for SWOG Group meeting attendance.

Potential awardees should complete the following form and submit a NIH format biosketch for consideration. Based on the number of applications and availability of funds, completed applications will be reviewed and ranked in terms of greatest mutual benefit, likelihood of continuing participation, and institutional status.

Travel Support

Awardees will be provided coach-class air transportation, arranged through SWOG, and two (2) nights lodging at the SWOG Group Rate at the meeting facility. All additional related travel costs remain the responsibility of the traveler, including hotel and flight upgrades. SWOG does not charge a registration fee for its meetings.

Who Can Apply?

This program is open to any disciplines other than hematologists/oncologists, such as surgeons, radiation oncologists, cardiologists, pharmacists, and general practitioners who have oncology or related research experience and will be or are already SWOG members located at a SWOG institution (LAPS, Main Member, Affiliate, NCORP, or MU-NCORP). SWOG Special Members from Non-SWOG institutions are encouraged to apply as well. Prior Awardees may reapply after a year has passed from their last award.

Deadlines

There are five available spots for those who qualify. Program applications for the Spring 2024 SWOG Group Meeting in Seattle are accepted until 4 p.m. PT, Monday, March 4, 2024.
