Since its opening, the Lung-MAP precision medicine umbrella trial in non-small cell lung cancer has continuously evolved with the science and with changing patient needs. This May 14, 2025, webinar provided the advocacy community a brief overview of the trial's current state of evolution and then engaged advocacy partners in discussion to paint a clearer picture of current and emerging patient needs, contributing to a vision for how lung cancer clinical research -- and Lung-MAP -- should continue to evolve.

The advocates panel discussion highlighted several priorities for better meeting the needs of patients with non-small cell lung cancer:

  • biomarker testing should be available to all
  • clinical trials should be seen as part of standard treatment
  • barriers to trial participation need to be lowered
  • advocacy and research organizations must collaborate to advance research and policy
