Next week we’ll host our fourth "Best of SWOG" webinar, a one-hour showcase of brief, fast-paced presentations on some of the most notable SWOG work our members have presented or published recently.

The virtual session will take place via WebEx on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 2 pm ET / 11 am PT, and you’re invited! Please register here to attend and learn more about what your colleagues are doing. Here’s our line-up for the event:

  • Sapna Patel, MD, will update us on the practice-changing S1801 melanoma trial results she presented in September at a Presidential Symposium at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2022 Congress in Paris.

  • Parminder Singh, MD, will deliver an interim toxicity assessment from the joint SWOG/NRG S/N1806 trial in bladder cancer, results that were presented at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) 2022 annual meeting in October.

  • Joseph Unger, PhD, will present his analysis of the impact and cost of four decades of NCI National Clinical Trials Network treatment trials, work published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology in December.

  • Mariana Chavez Mac Gregor, MD, MSc, will discuss findings from SWOG’s S1207 trial of adjuvant everolimus in breast cancer, results she presented at the 2022 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) in December.

  • Yara Abdou, MD, will close out the session with results from her analysis of race/ethnicity and its association with patient outcomes in the S1007 RxPONDER trial, work also presented at SABCS 2022.

As in previous sessions, I’ll play host and will moderate the questions posed via the chat box after each presentation.

To make the webinar even more valuable, we’ve made it possible to earn Continuing Medical Education credit for the session, offered through The Hope Foundation. Just complete the online evaluation after attending (this link will be provided after the session as well).

Hosting two Best of SWOG webinars per year seems to be the right cadence, timing the first to highlight ASCO, by far our largest venue for SWOG presentations, and the second to showcase some of our most significant results published or presented in the second half of the year.

So you can look forward to another Best of SWOG webinar in (or around) late June. For now, though, I encourage you to not miss next week’s event. Register now to have it added to your calendar!
